A watercolor painting I made of Nunley’s Carousel, as it looked in Baldwin, Long Island, my hometown, around 1970. Each giclee print is one of an edition of 250, printed on archival Hahnemuhle paper, signed and numbered by the artist.
Thousands of Long Islanders remember this beautiful old world park that attracted locals, motorists, and tourists for 60 years. I grew up in Baldwin, and I can never forget the sight of the turning boats in their little pond, the spinning ferris wheel, the gleaming train-like hand cars on their track, and all of the other rides, not to mention the carousel and miniature golf course. The carousel Wurlitzer filled the air all around.
